I'm baaaaack! Thanks for waiting!

Holy wow it's been a hectic few months. I am so grateful and completely blessed to have such supportive friends and family. We MOVED! It was pretty sudden and right around the start of school and with everything going on I've seriously neglected my blog. Now I'm back, settled into our beautiful new home and have started making again. My hope is that picking up where I left off and overloading this thing with posts will put me back on track for more events this fall. Anyway here are some photos and fun bits about the new place. This fire place is giving me ideas for this holiday season!  The Cube had a new home... New Craft Room!

Revamped my spaces...

Something I do quite often is rearrange my house to try and fine the best way for everything to work cohesively together. This can be incredibly challenging to find the right balance with two toddlers and a house full of chaos but I feel significantly better every time and it makes me feel good to work out the kinks in our home design. So my latest... Random I know but today was my first day to rest since the walk and after everything then nothing going on this is my most exciting thing to report today.... Fast forward a couple weeks and I finally get to posting this today May 4th. I'm taking in allot of my things in my environment today and feeling very grateful so I figured Id conclude this post with some of my spaces I'm particularly proud of in my life today that bring me joy :).

Endangered Species Fair 2019

Took the girls on an outing today and had a blast learning about recycling and the different species of animals that have become endangered. Had a blast and saw some amazing animals too. So proud of my girls for behaving themselves in the hot sun. #summermomlife

Autism Walk Today!

Me and my girls Auntie Cece My booth set up <3 Had a wonderful day with my family and friends at this years autism walk. Thank you to all my supporters and customers for helping me make my donation goals. It was a nice turn out for a first time event for me and I absolutely enjoyed myself. I hope to work more with Little Red Hen and The Yellow Door on future events.

Making progress...

Osi's VinylDolls Just got a new shipment of scraps for my critters from the ladies at Osi's Vinyl Dolls, a custom rave and costume store stationed out of LA. They graciously donated their scraps to me to help support my efforts. Special thank you to them!

New Discoveries with Essential Oils

I've always had one friend or another interested in essential oils or diffusing in their home but have never been to into it myself until I went to the Chico Healing Arts Fair in September of last year. I had one drop of peppermint and one of orange essential oils put on my hands and was told to rub my hands together and breath it in deep and it was like a whole new world...straight up magic. Theres also allot of aroma therapy that can be used to help autism spectrum disorder so I decided to include some in my preperations for April. I'll sell 5ml rollers and droppers that are mixs and blends to promote stimulation as well as calming that can be rolled onto the skin directly or dropped into a bath or shower. Im unsure of how I will price them. More info on that soon. <3

Critter Photos! Ready for adoption ;)

Time keeps on slipping...

Hello there, it's been awhile since I've posted so I figured I should at least put something up here. I have been unbelievably busy making and crafting to prepare for the autism walk in April. Pictures to come I'm sure. I have all my gears turning and I'm firing on most of my cylinders so now I just need to make time to take pictures of everything haha... I had an exceptional breakthrough with a buisness I buy fabric from and they offered to send me their scraps for free! It's also been spring break so my kiddos have all been home all week. I will try and be more diligent about posting my new creations more frequently. Love and happy crafting.

Sensory Pets

Cone Shaped "Bean"and Circle shaped Oval or "Rock" shaped These little critters my good friend found on Pinterest and I fell so in love I ordered the eyes that day and started making them. I'm only in the early stages of them so stay tuned for more cute pocket critters, soon I plan to fill them with random things to enhance the sensory component but these guys are fiber filled. If anyone is interested in ordering one they are only $5+shipping and I accept color and style requests :)!

Sensory machine

We made this before the cube but I think it deserves credit because it was a fun repurposing project that really helped my girls adapt t ok sleeping in their own room without their big sister. At night my twins wake up and want to play sometimes and it was a problem with their big sister so we finally decided to give them their own room. For several weeks heard them up at night terrorizing one another, the way kids do. We even watched them on the video monitor and it was mostly just being silly because they were up and supposed to be sleeping. Caught this one waking up from nap time <3 We have never been a kennel family, we rescued a dog and the new owners we rehomed her with didn't want it. Its big and cumbersome but we realized the kids liked playing with it and even napping in it. So after a good cleaning, some spray paint, and some fun accessories we made it a proper hang out for the littles.  I later expanded the idea to their twin over full bunk bed and cr...

Story of a Mom Win...

So a little backstory, My twins have autism on two different areas of the spectrum. We have allot of challenges in our household with communication. One if my children speaks secretly and whispers to herself but we know she should talk anyday, one of our daughters is considered non-verbal and is starting to use picture icons to request for things, and my oldest is 5 going on 15 and thinks she knows EVERYTHING... and that she has to voice her opinion to everyone. Its chaos mostly, but this morning my non-verbal little girl, who woke up in the middle of the night and slept with dad on the couch, crawled up the stairs and waited in her room. I went and found her there and asked what she wanted she handed me her shirt to help put it on. She did this by grabbing it with her feet and hoisting it up in the air but still it was a wonderful moment of calm, concise, real communication that she did all on her own. Its only just started happening that she does anything but scream for what she wan...

THE CUBE!

This was quite the involved project that started because my children began banging their heads on the ground when they wanted to communicate but couldn't. My husband and I managed to turn 12 wooden dowels and 8 90° PVC joints into a padded room, more or less, so they would be safe from themselves until they calm down.  My husband sanded all the edges to fit snug in the joints. 18 yards of pre-quilted fabric No pattern just kindof made it up as I went. I'll sketch up something to explain it eventually. 8 3/4" PVC joints 90°  I had to order and return two different sets, and search 2 big box supply stores before going to a local hardware store...it pays to do research before shopping! Pre-drill the holes so the wooden dowels dont crack. Initially it was just 4 walls It stayed facing upright for about a week until we decided it was to much a kid jail and to hard on my back to lift them in and out every time. Just no fun for anyone.  ...

Paper Creations!

These have seen better days but I made this to look like the girls when we were teaching them their facial features, its a little on the creepy side but I was happy it helped them.  Its amazing how much a simple drawing, laminate, and some velcro can accomplish. Even simple directions, I have these all over my house.
